In high school, he formed the band "Death" with his classmate Kyosuke Himuro and others[1][Note 3]. In 1979, the band won a prize in the East West contest. Scouted by Being and moved to Tokyo, but "Death" will not debut, and the band will be disintegrated in the air[Note 4]. In 1980, Tetsuro Oda's band "Tetsuro Oda & 9th IMAGE" joined as a bassist and made his professional debut[2], Disbanded due to discord between members[3 ]。 After that, I heard from Tetsuro Oda that Himuro and Torayasu Hotei were trying to form a band[3], joined the two in September of the same year. In 1982, he re-debuted as the bassist of BOØWY with "MORAL". As an original member, he worked until the disbandment. After ending his activities with BOØWY in 1988, he released his first solo album "Happy Song" in 1989 after supporting studio musicians and Hotei live. Since then, he has continued his activities at his own pace. Even after the disbandment of BOØWY, he interacted with the former members the most, such as participating in the album recording of Himuro and Makoto Takahashi. In "Song OF Joy'", he will focus on songs featuring instrumental and female vocalists, and will take on the main vocals from "Ice Man Under the Moon". Even when he stood on stage with the support of other artists, he never performed his own live performances. From "We Were Back in Then" to a song that is conscious of live performances. In 2002 and 2003, he participated in the Hotei tour as a support bassist. Also, in 2003, as a solo project, he released the album "1" under the name of "Groove Syndicate" with Hotei, Tatsuya Oe, and Toshiji Kishi[Note 5]. In 2004, he served as the opening act for David Bowie's performance at the Japan Budokan under the name "Groove Syndicate" with Tatsuya Oe and Toshiyuki Japan Kishi. In the same year, he established his own private office, "Solid Sounds". For about 10 years from 2004, he said, "I can't work alone on the bass (like Hanawa), but I can play alone on the guitar. He was active in a musical style in which he played the acoustic guitar himself. In 2009, THe album "HORIZON -20TH ANNIVERSARY-" commemorating THe 20TH solo activity was released and THe live tour was held. He also released a cover album of oldies rock numbers "RAVE ON". Here, as a return to the origins, they performed a stage with the main 8-minute bass playing for the first time in a long time. At the end of the year, he performed with PERSONZ on the "RAVE ON" tour. In November of the same year, Tokuma Shoten published his autobiography "Memory". From October 2012, 10, Radio TakasakiRadio program "Tsunematsu Matsui SOLID SOUNDS" started[4]. From the album "Reverie" released in 2014, he returned to the musicality of "Happy Song". He is working on instrumental works by his own input[5]. Since 2016, he has been a regular appearance as a guest personality on Radio Takasaki "AIR PLACE" Thursday[6].
